"Robertson and Cashio"

a poem by Nate Axtell

I dreamed of an endless burning
and broken lava lamps
and what came out was blue green molasses
that was undeniable

In the land of consciousness
I wait in the dark
Wondering when this black eggshell will break
and spawn me into an artificial dawn

While on the other side of the wall
Religious men in various hats
Chant, invoke, and sacrifice
Shouting down this holy ritual with their burnt offerings.
