Coca Cola - web series “Customer One”

Client:

Coke

Problem:

Coke had an outdated sales and distribution software so they built a new system, Customer One, and wanted to get the word out in a funny, warm, and approachable way. They wanted to keep the focus on the people the new software would help––their partners and employees.

My Thinking:

Jokes about old vs young people have been around since the beginning of comedy. As the writer and director, I personified this recognizable bit —Boomer vs Gen Z — in a grandpa and granddaughter who run a local grocery store and are partners with Coke. Their relationship and their differences are the center of our series. However, I intentionally made them warm and loving, even though they had conflict about the best way to run the store. Our hero Coke employee gently guides them through the new Customer One platform as they modernize their store and processes.

We made a bunch of these episodes to explain the new software so as the writer and director, I was constantly looking for ways to keep the characters and visuals interesting (bouncy house!) while in one location and on a limited budget. I also hired some great working actors with great credits to pull off the dual act of entertaining and educating the audience.
